Governor John Adams Dix Windmill
Contact
The historic 1870 Gov. John Adams Dix Windmill was generously donated by the Hutt family and relocated to the Great Lawn thanks to the collaborative efforts of the local community, Westhampton Beach Village, and the Town of Southampton. This landmark has been restored to function as an operational water-pumping windmill, serving as a testament to the 24th New York State Governor and his family's connections to this region. It will also serve as a historical resource for future generations.
The successful restoration was made possible through Southampton Town's Community Preservation Fund, Village of Westhampton Beach, historic preservation grants, private donations, and the support of the Greater Westhampton Historical Museum.
