Gazebo Roof Replacement Project

1. Introduction
The Village of Westhampton Beach (“the Village”) invites proposals from qualified contractors for the removal and replacement of the roof on the Village Green Gazebo located at 9 Beach Road in the Village of Westhampton Beach, New York. The work shall be performed in accordance with NYS Labor Law Article 8 (Prevailing Wage), and all relevant building codes, safety, and permitting requirements.
- Project Description
Village Green Gazebo roof specifications:
Provide protection as needed for the Gazebo structure and surrounding landscaping to prevent damage incurred while replacing the roof
Remove existing cedar roofing including all carting fees
Provide material and labor cost to install Red Cedar blue label perfection pressure treated 18” shingle roof on existing lathe
Provide allowance to repair lathe as needed that might be damaged
All Fasteners hidden and exposed to be 316 stainless steel
All flashing to be 20-ounce Lead coated copper
Provide as an add alternate the cost to provide and install scalloped shingles
Provide thorough cleanup of site when completed
3. Scope of Work (General)
The following summarizes the required tasks:

2. Demolition and Disposal
3. Installation
4. Clean-Up and Restoration
5. Warranties
4. Contractor Qualifications
Contractors must possess valid NYS contractor’s licenses, have a minimum of five (5) years of experience performing similar roofing projects, and provide three (3) references of comparable projects completed within the past five years.
5. Insurance
The following are required and shall be included in the proposal:
– Insurance: Certificates naming the Village as additional insured (General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Auto Liability, and Umbrella)
6. Permits and Compliance
The Contractor shall obtain all necessary building permits and approvals. All work must comply with NYS Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, OSHA safety standards, and Prevailing Wage Laws (NYS DOL wage schedule to be attached).
7. Submittals and Approvals
The proposal must provide product data, samples, and a construction schedule.
Proposals must be clearly marked “Village of Westhampton Beach – Gazebo Roof Replacement” and delivered to:
Village Clerk’s Office, 165 Mill Road, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978 by January 2, 2025.

PLEASE NOTE that, depending on the dollar amount of the proposals received in response to this RPF, the Village may have to reject all proposals and advertise the Project for public bids in accordance with NYS General Municipal Law Section 103.
